Exterior finishes are detailed to reflect design preferences ‘of the current time’. Expressed steel structure will replace traditional oak framing, and brickwork, whilst traditional, will be installed in unusual bonds with sections ‘perforated’ to introduce texture, interest and depth to a familiar material.

‘A modern interpretation of intricate craftsmanship and bespoke detailing’.

Asymmetric in elevation and plan with cantilevering first floors and structural glass oriel bays, deep single pitch rooflines, wide oversailing eaves and tile hanging present a form evocative of the arts and crafts movement.

Sculptural chimney stacks ground the building whilst lofty internal vaulting provides intriguing volumes, allowing light to cast interesting shadows throughout the interior. Rooflights, galleried landings and structural glazed floors allow full appreciation of the building’s internal extents.

This contemporary house is designed to be highly functional. Spacious rooms with free flowing flexible interiors provide a modern open plan family home. Featuring a highly insulated airtight structure and sustainable air source heat pump heating technologies the building will be very economical to run.
