‘Full restoration of a Grade II Listed Townhouse’
This multi-staged project involves the reinstatement of the formal Georgian entrance hall and relocation of the existing kitchen. Minor alterations to the first floor will enhance circulation and improve bathroom facilities. Conversion of an existing outbuilding provides classic car storage with a quiet home office above overlooking the rear garden.
‘Original fireplaces and chimney surrounds carefully restored’
The building has been subject to significant alterations and extensions over the years and the proposal seeks to reinstate historic layouts whilst providing improved facilities in line with current expectations.
‘Heritage staircase restoration and conservation’
The elegant open string staircase so typical of the Georgian era has been sensitively repaired. Gently sanded back to its original timber finish to compliment the wide plank Elm floorboards finishing the entrance hall.
The original swept handrail and slender spindles rise through the flight wrapping around the first floor landing. Hand printed wallpapers complete the feature.
‘Traditional chalk & lime paints add rich texture and interest’
Natural paints introduce a soft matte finish avoiding the sheen of modern paints providing a highly sophisticated, curated look. The intriguing depth enhances the texture of the original lime plaster walls providing a timeless elegant patina.
‘Fully restored sash windows light the cosy dining room’
The period, traditionally weighted single glazed sash windows have been meticulously restored. Bespoke mouldings have been created to match the original fine ‘lambs tongue’ glazing bar profiles. These wonderful windows flood the cosy, colour soaked interiors with light whilst maintaining the formal Georgian exterior.
‘Sensitively designed, period appropriate bathrooms’
Carefully selected fittings balance historical authenticity with modern plumbing convenience. Reclaimed floor tiles and cast iron radiators compliment the roll top bath creating an atmosphere of restful elegance. Careful sourcing of authentic fixtures and fittings and period appropriate colour schemes provide a modern facility without losing character.
